Key Ingredients for a successful solution to inverting cans and bottles. Computer Aided Design, Solid Modelling, CNC Machinery and Imagination
Can Invertor
Most solution providers are keen to tell you they can think outside the box. Here at Startec were proud to say we can also think inside the box Key Benefits
Invertors Invertors are commonly used in rinsing bar coding and sanitizing applications and can be used anywhere that a can or bottle needs to be turned over. The main advantage is in their size, a typical can or bottle can be turned 180º in 400mm of travel. They can be mounted on top of a conveyor needing no major modifications to the conveyor. Inverted products in this situation need little line pressure to push them through the Invertor however, like a deadplate cans or bottles can be left stranded. In high speed applications damage can occur when the next surge of product hits the stationary product, a 15º run down hill can be used to ensure the invertor box is cleared in this situation. Turning cans and bottles over using an Invertor is not particularly new traditionally these have been manufactured by labour intensive methods and are manually cut and trimmed until they work. They are constructed of multiple plates (laminates) which because of the manufacturing method are generally quite crude and have larger than needed clearances to ensure a free flow of product through them. Although the technology has been proven over a considerable time it is time to move this ingenious product forward. Startec Plus Ltd can now offer a high tec alternative to the traditionally manufactured Invertor. In place of the manual methods so far employed in the design and manufacturing of Invertors we now use state of the art solid modeling and advanced macros in the design process and CNC machinery to manufacture. As a consequence our Invertors can be made to tighter tolerances and have smoother flow lines allowing them to be used on high speed lines. In place of the 50 to 60 individual plates of traditional Invertors our Invertors have only four parts. This alleviates one of the major worries in a food production environment, that is the reduction of potential bug traps. To further aid in cleaning Invertors can be manufactured to open up either using hinged or lift off top sections. Invertors can be designed to turn a variety of containers cans, bottles, Jars and even some cartons either full or empty. If you have an application where you think an Invertor may be the solution please feel free to call us with the details of your product and application for an assessment.
