Startec Plus Ltd has been set up to address frustrations with the servicing shortfall of existing engineering suppliers to the Food & Beverage industry.  Within the scope of the company, we provide quality engineering solutions in the supply of Change Parts,  Feedscrews, Invertors, and plastic componentry for the food, canning and bottling industries.

In New Zealand there has been little choice in this area,  those getting involved having scant experience in the technical aspects of the machines using these parts.  The majority of those getting involved are only able to produce adjusted copies of original parts.  This usually leads to an incremental error causing each set of parts to get further from the original.

Where this approach really falls down, is when the original parts  are adjusted to enable a range of similar bottles to be put through the same parts.  In smaller production environments this is a common practice usual justification is to save money or because of the constraints or demands of the production schedule. On machines running at 30 to 40 bottles per minute these parts are barely adequate but when higher speeds are required correctly designed parts are essential.  The critical areas of the machine must have the bottle presented accurately and in a synchronized fashion.  Bottle stability is also important both at the infeed to the machine and whilst being handled throughout the machine.

Purchasing a machine capable of filling, capping or labeling at 100 bottles per minute and then running it at 30 to 40 bottles whilst also needing an operator standing by to right fallen bottles or adjust their course through the machine is not achieving the efficiency the machine was designed for.  This lack of efficiency is purely because of poorly designed or incorrect change parts. Put simply, incorrectly designed parts and the inconsistencies of packaging materials will cost you huge money in lost production.

The staff at Startec Plus Ltd have many years of experience in the design and manufacture of Change parts and feed screws. We have encountered and resolved many Change part problems which you may be experiencing with your production machines and are ready to assist.
